People feared that when year 2000 hit that all computer electronics would fail. This idea came into play due to the dates on computers only going to year 1999. This made people loose their minds thinking that everything that relied on a calendar would no-longer function. -

This was caused by the new technology used in the Florida voting machines that made it nearly impossible to decipher votes. Due to Florida being the state that would make or break the election, they had to recount the votes by hand. This resulted in a court case between Bush and Gore. -
9-11
9-11 was a terror attack involving 3 planes being hijacked. 1 planes crashed into the twin tower, another crashed into the pentagon, and the last with a set course to crash into the white house but was taken over by the passengers on board and ended up crashing in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
