Microsoft enters the competition by releasing their windows 95 that comes with internet explorer installed, as a result internet explorer rises very quickly in popularity. -
Opera enters the competition but failed to reach the popularity of Navigator and Explorer.

Much later, Apple releases safari and comes close to overtaking internet explorer. -
Mozilla firefox is released which gained quite a lot of popularity and is still a preferred option today by many people.

Google Chrome is released and quickly overtook explorer and firefox, chrome is still the most popular browser today. -
Microsoft attempt to reclaim the top slot with Microsoft edge but did not succeed because everyone was happy with chrome.
