  • British in debt after the war

    The British had one the war, but at a great cost. They were 122 million pounds in debt, and needed a way to make up the money.
  • The Proclamation of 1763

    This proclamation followed attempts by colonists to colonize land west of the Allegheny mountains, which angered local Indian tribes. The proclamation banned settlements west of the Allegheny mountains.

    A tax on molasses and sugar products, in an attempt to raise money to pay off debt after the war.
