Dr. Chalmers moved to Sydney, Australia in 1973 to take a professor role at the University of Sydney in which he began really diving into the Philosophy of Science and how the techniques and procedures that follow with empirical data, relate to not only historical discographies of science, but also how that research is used today.
-
Dr. Alan Chalmers first major breakthrough came in the form of a book titled " What is this thing called Science", in which Chalmers breaks down how Scientists pre- Scientific revolution were naïve in their data collection ways, and how their empirical data collection methods were "Naïve", his work on historical data collection is massive in terms of The historical presence in The philosophy of science and paved the road for many philosophers to dive into empirical data collection in history.
