This image was created base on public opinion, or how the people viewed the incident. He created this to shape public opinion. Plus it showcased the British as the true antagonist, allowing the artwork to change their point of view on the British.

    Thomas Preston, the commander of the soldiers, was put on trial for 7 days. The result: Due to the fact that his trial was centered on him saying "fire" he was pleaded not guilty, mainly based on reasonable doubt.

    The soldiers, under the command of Thomas Preston, were put on trial for 9 days. The result: Six were aquitted. The other two were found guilty of manslaughter, therefore escaping the death penalty. Thus, they were just imprisoned for a short period of time.
