Prior to the attack, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev acquires several manuscripts of high level Al-Qaeda members, dictating to muslims to withhold allegiance to coutnries who invade Muslim land and to carry out acts of violence against the enemies of Islam. He also subscribes to Al-Qaeda's magazine "Inspire" which gives him instructions on how to create a bomb. -
Explosives Purchased
Tamerlan Tsarnaev purchases several dozen fireworks mortars, obtaining 8 pounds of low-strength explosives to be used in the attacks. -
Shooting Range
The Tsarnaev brothers head to a shooting range in New Hampshire to practice thier marksmanship -

The final bomb making materials arrive in the mail, some electronic components -
April 15, 2013
2:49 pm. The bombs are detonated twelve seconds apart at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. 3 are killed and 250 are injured -
Description
Jeff Bauman, a double amputee from the blast, is able to give the FBI a description of a man who dropped a backpack near him just before the bombs went off -
Shooting and Hijacking
5 pm - descriptions and pictures of the shooters are relased by the FBI 10pm - The two brothers leave Cambridge, Mass. and head to MIT to retrieve a Honda Civic 10:25pm - The brothers ambush and killed an MIT Police Officer, Sean Collier, to take his weapon. They are unable to do so. 11pm - The brothers hijack a car with a hostage. At a gas staiton, the driver flees escapes and calls 911, informing authorities of the situtation. A massive manhunt insues. -
Manhunt Continued
The brothers are tracked via the kidnapped driver's Iphone. 1243 pm - A gunfight erupts between police and the brothers. Tamerlan is severely injured by gunshots and eventually run over by his fleeing brother's vehicle. Tamerlan dies at the hospital. 7am - Investigators release Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's name and photo. -
Captured
7pm - David Henneberry walks outside to check on his boat, only to discover lots of blood. 830 pm - Police have Dzhokhar Tsarnaev encircled. 845pm - Dzhokhar Tsarnaev emerges from the boat, covered in blood. 858 - Boston Police release the tweet "CAPTURED!!! The hunt is over. The search is done. The terror is over. And justice has won. Suspect in custody."
