Detective Alex Cross has begun working at the FBI in the ninth book of the series. Almost immediately after joining, Alex finds out about women all across the country being abducted. He and his partners at the FBI began to investigate the case, with not many leads to follow up on. Along with his perspective, throughout the book it also gives the story from the abducted women and their experiences while Alex Cross races to try to stop the abductors from striking again.
