In, 1976 his troubles began. He was diagnosed at the age of 12 with type one diabetes. Bobby started having health problems at 11, but that didn't stop him. It just merely slowed him down. While in law school Bobby was having trouble reading the board. He then realised he was going blind. That angered him because it not only effected his mental life, but (to him) more importantly his physical life. Bobby had to slow down and figure out what had happended, was happening, and what was going to happen. Bobby didn't like slowing down so that also angered him. As you all know Bobby he found an answer to this provblem. He got sugerey to bring back some of his eyesight.

In 1994 Got invited to go ski and ended up being good at it. Followed his motto,"Fall down 7 times get up 8".

Made the Disabled ski team and went to the World Championship Games. Was diagnosed with KIdney failure, so he got very sick.

At the World Disabled Championship in Australia Bobby's kidney's Failed. Bobby got very disappionted becuase he became sick and couldn't do the World Disabled Championship.

Bobby found a matching kidney and pancreas donor so he could get better. He was always positive and that positivity paid off for his new health.

He had successful surgery, great lab results, and was feeling great. To him the idea of having new organs, so he was no longer diabetic was pretty amazing.

In Japan, he completed a Paralympics. He competed in a Downhill Alpine skiing competition taking 5th place.

After he got healthy he started skiing agian. During the ski season he started experiencing symptons of acute renal rejection.

Bobby got sick agian so he had to go back on dialysis. Bobby Mcmullen said "Time off dialysis is time off your life".

Bobby got a double organtransplant for him to be healthy agian. Once he was healthy he retired from skiing and went on to what he did best.....being active.

Bobby had competed in the Challenged Athletes Foundation Half Ironman event. He realised that the mountain biking was his favorite part. So he went mountain biking and completed 23 races including two 12 hour races and 9 cross country races.

He completed the 3,00 mile race across America. He raced because he wanted to raise donation for sick people. Bobby always says" If you give 115% then you've won the day over".Search "RideBlindRacing.com" if youy want more details.

Bobby had completed the Downieville Classic Mountain Bike Race. The race is a 17 mile course said to be the countries most challenging downhill race. Search "Youtube.com" if you want to see him ride.

Bobby spent his summer in Europe. He raced the Euro Cup Super Enduro in Sauze d' Oulx.
