John D Rockefeller founded what was at the time, the largest oil refinery in the world. It was one of the first and largest multinational corporations. The supreme court decided to rule against it in 1911. -
Carnegie Steel Company is formed
Andrew Carnegie founded a company providing steel for the railroad tracks. His first steel mill was Edgar Thomas Steel works and he profited so much from it he started expanding very quickly and soon had more locations making steel rails for trains
