Grendel
Grendel attacked Herot and the Danes because he was angered by the music and the celebrations of the Danes. He would sneak in at night and eat soldiers that were sleeping in Herot. Then he would go back to his cave until the next night. He did that every night for 12 years. -
Coming of Beowulf
A warrior named Beowulf came from Higlac with 14 of his best men to defeat Grendel and end his reign of terror. Beowulf also wanted the fame, glory, and gifts that he would recieve for defeating the monster. He also wanted to show his people how brave he was by fighting this beast that no one else could defeat. -
Beowulf Comes
Beowulf taks to Hrothgar and tells him of his past glories and how he is here to defeat Grendel. Beowulf boasts about his accomplishments and is very confident that he will easily beat Grendel. -
Coming of Beowulf
Beowulf tells Hrothgar that he will defeat grendel with his bare hands because grendel does not carry a weapon. Hrothgar offers him gifts if he defeats this monster. Beowulf then says to Hrothgar that if he dies to send his gifts back to Higlac and to send his sword back to. -
Battle with Grendel
Beowulf and his men pretend to sleep in Herot so they can attack Grendel when he comes to attack again. -
Battle with Grendel
Grendel reaches to grab Beowulf and Beowulf grabs Grendel back. He is the first one to grab back at Grendel. Grendel then tries to run away but Beowulf grabs his arm and keeps him in Herot. -
Battle with Grendel
Beowulf and Grednel fight, but Beowulf dominated hte fight from the start. Grendel keeps trying to secape and run back home, but Beowulfs does not let him. At the end of the battle, Beowulf rips Grendels arm off as a trophy to keep from his victory. -
Battle with Grendel
Grendel returns home to die as the Danes celebrate the victory of beowulf. He is given gifts and people celebrate and rejoice that Grendel is now dead. Beowulf becomes an iconic hero at Herot. -
Grendel's Mom
Grendel's mom is very upset that her son is dying. She returns to Herot for some revenge. She kills Hrothgar's closest friend (Aeschere). she alkso takes back her son's arm which was hanging in Herot and then returns home. -
Battle with Grendel's Mom
Beowulf decides to go and fight Grendel's Mom because it is his fault she came to Herot. Beowulf again asks Hrothgar to send all of his gifts becak to Higlac and to take care of his men as if they wer his own if he dies. Unferth comes up to Beowulf and gives him his sword to use the the fight as an apology for calling him out before the fight with Grendel. The sword is named Hrunting. -
Battle with Grendel's Mom
Danes and Beowulf's men wait at the top of the lake for the hero to return. Beowulf dives into the lake and swims down to find Grendel's Mom. After swimming for a while grendel's Mom sees and grabs Beowulf and brings him down to a fighting hall in a cave. -
Battle with Grendel's Mom
Beowulf tries to use his swrod , but it is usless as her body is made of magic scales that are immune to swords. Beowulf and Grendel's Mom now tackle each other and fight both with their bare hands. At one point Grendel's Mom pins down Beowulf and trie to stab him with a dagger, but he is wearing chain armour and it protects him. -
Battle with Grendel's Mom
After getting back up Beowulf finds a magic Giant's sword. The sword was so hevay that only beowulf could lift it. He takes the sword and he cuts Grendel's Mom in half with that almight powerful sword. In this times people at the top of the lake see the blood from the fight and assume that Beowulf is dead. The Danes all go back to their homes, but Beowulf's men stay and wait for him to return. -
Battle with Grendel's Mom
After killing Grendel's Mom Beowulf takes Hrunting and goes to look for Grendel's body. Once he finds the body he uses Hrunting and cuts off Grendel's head. he takes the head an the hilt of the magic Giant's sword and he returns to the surface. He then goes becak to Herot and shows the Grendel's head as a prize for his victories -
The Final Battle
Fifty years later, Beowulf is the king of the Geats and is now about 70 years old. One of his followeres finds a dragon's cave filled with treasure. He decides to take one item from the cave. The dragon becomes outraged and begins to attack Beowulf's kingdom. -
The Final Battle
Beowulf goes to fight the dragon and says that no one else could defeat this dragon but him. He brings about 10 men with him to the cave. He goes in by himslef to defeat the dragon. he stabs the dragon and right when he does his sword breaks. He now has to fight the dragon with his bare hands. -
The Final Battle
The dragon traps Beowulf in fire and would not let him out. Beowulf's men outside the cave ran and hid in the forest except for one man named Wiglaf. Wiglaf stayed and was goin in the cave to help Beowulf. Beforehe went in he told off the men that ran way and said how they were cowards and let down their king. -
The Final Battle
Wiglaf goes in and saves Beowulf for the moment. He stabs the dragon and lest Beowulf out of the fire he was trapped in. The dragon than bites Beouwulf and as he is falling from the dragons mouth he stabs the dragon's stomch with a dagger and rips open his stomach. Beowulf then asks Wiglaf to show hi the treasure that he fought for as his final request. Wiglaf brins back some of the treasure and Beowulf dies. -
New King
After Beowulf's death, Wiglaf takes over as king. He first demotes the other so,diers who ran away from the cave when Beowulf fought the dragon. Beowulf is buried in the tower that he asked to be built for him.
