In the 1600's the most commonly used thing for fuel was in fact charcoal, because it was easy to obtain from hardwood forests. There had also been a great demand for it. It also got very expensive in the early 1700's. As it got more expensive iron industries had to quit there jobs because of the high costs. -

The hulls on the ships had been improved and they were then made more sturdy. It had allowed the ships to travel to further places like america and india a lot faster and more sturdy. -

In the year 1618 William Harvey had discovered how the blood circulates around your body. He had noticed that the valves in the veins had let the blood flow only in the direction of the heart. -

In the year of 1619 there had been an inventer named 'Andrew Yarranton' and he had been the known inventer of the canal locks. -
English Civil War
The English Civil War had gone for nearly ten years. It had been a series of armed conflicts and political machinations which had been between the Parliamentarians (Roundheads) and the Royalists (Cavaliers). There was also three civil wars. -
Great London Fire
The fire was a major conflagration that had swept through central parts of the English city of London. The fire had gone for three days in 1666, it had destroyed london inside of the Old Roman City Wall. It had also threatened Westminister, but did not reach it. -
Steam
Water was a main source of power, but in the late 1700's steam had begun to overule water. -
Iron and Coal
In the lead up to the industrial revolution the coal and iron industries had been a big importance. Without the iron and coal industries steam engines would not run, sturdy bridges couldn't get built, no ships and many other machines would not be able to get built without coal and iron industries. -
Steel
Henry bessemer had tried to create a stronger steel. In the mid 1800's he had succeded with a mixture of iron and other materials, steel then led on to improve other industries. -
