Creation
On a trip to Germany Ruth found a doll named Lilli, she had adult features and it was getting famous in the USA. The toy company Mattel bought it and changed her looks. -
Ken is created
Barbie was not alone any more because Ken, her eternal partner, was created. They created them as handsome and attractive as they could,like they did with Barbie. -
Midge is created
Barbie's best friend was created because people were tired of buying the same doll so Mattel created a whole new variety of barbies. -
Creation of the first african-american Barbie, Christie
She was one of the most important Barbie's friends because people loved the idea of a doll from another culture. But in 2005 she was discontinued thanks to low sales and brand changes. -
Ken with sideburns and Barbie with curled ends
Barbie was a fashion icon, she changed her look according to the era's trend, so did Ken. -
Barbie and Ken became rollerbladers
In the 80's, nothing special was happening with Barbie, so Mattel decided that Barbie and Ken could be a nice skaters couple, so they created colorful rollerblading costumes and nice rollerblades. -
Barbie became a rapper
After 30 years of changing profesions, trying new sports, and changing looks, there was just one thing left... Being a Rapper.
So they dressed her like Madonna and it was really succesful. -
International conference of Barbie
Mattel decided to get together Barbie's fans from all around the world in Florida, USA. So thousands of people went there dressed with Barbie's costumes. It was unbelievable. -
Barbie travels with the NASA
In 1992 Barbie became an astronaut. Mattel created a special costume for her, and an amazing pink spaceship. So she visited for first time the space and went to the moon and back with one more job and one more incredible experience. -

Barbie's first movie
Barbie and the nutcracker was released when she was 40 years old.
The director was Owen Hurley. The film is about Clara (Barbie) getting a nutcracker from her aunt and while she sleeps the nutcracker comes to life and Barbie helps him fight King Mouse. -
Barbie life in the dreamhouse
In May 2012, Mattel created a computer serie about Barbie. It's about a wealthy version from Barbie that lives in a wonderful mansion with her sister, her boyfriend, and many of her other friends. They also have some pets, ships, helicopters, cars, and horses... It has a big audience, about one million people. -

Now a days, Barbie has around 15.000.000 followers all around the world, about 1.000.000 girls have one or more Barbie dolls, bigger, smaller, with all the kind of dresses, from all the nationalities, and with all the professions.
