    The Wall Street Crash caused Australia un-employment of 13 million people at most and the decline of gross domestic products. The Great Depression was an economic catastrophe that affected most of the World's nations, but affected the Western World the worst.Since Australia was a growing country, the economic downfall limited the amount of vital materials like wool and wheat Australia needed to support it's growing population. The Economic Depression created political instability.

    Anschlus acted as the first step of the merging of all Germany, and uniting most of Gemany. This was significant because it allowed Hitler to create a successful reich, creating more troubles in WW2 and enhancing Germanies forces later into the wars.

This was significant because it was the first attempt of creating an Aryan race, using gas and other cruel methods to attempt to entirely wipe out a race and 'imperfects' due to their features and culture.

    The Soviet Union was behind in the arms race and their Nuclear Missiles were only powerful enough to be launched against Europe. The United State's armed forces were at their highest state of readiness, so Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev divised a plan to strategically place missiles in Cuba so they could hit American. This is significant because it's the closest the world ever came to nuclear war. Luckily JFK and Nikita Khrushchev averted the war, preventing the nuclear war from occuring.

    The 1967 Referendum was to include Aboriginals in the census and to allow the Commonwealth government to make laws for Aboriginal people. This granting of rights helped Aboriginals merge into white Australian population, significantly helping Aboriginals live and thrive in what was once their country.

    The campaign to save Lake Pedder was the objective to fly through Canberra and skywrite the message "Save Lake Pedder" in attempt of targeting the Federal Government and stopping the flooding of the lake. Brenda Hean and Max Price, members of the Lake Pedder Action Group have been missing ever since. This is significant because the murder of two people could've been ordered by the opposing side who was against the campaign, creating lots of controversy between both sides.

    The save Franklin/Gordon River campaign was the attempt to save the Franklin river. In 1979 the Hydro Electric Commission released a propsal to construct a 180 megawatt power scheme which would add to the huge power output already provided by the State's hydo electric stations. This was significant because it generated alot of jobs, but the proposal was also detested by many organisations even the requiring Federal Government's intervention.
