Military career
When he was young he was aspired to be in the military. Because of his smallness Pinochet was rejected twice by the National Military Academy. In 1930 he went to Escuela Militar four year officer training course in Santiago. -

He graduated in 1936.And when he did He was promoted to second lieutenant in the Chile Army. He retired from the army in 1990. -
Family
He soon married Lucía Hiriart on January 30, 1943. After that they had 5 kids. Today his wife is still alive with the 5 kids. -

He had a lot of military schooling. He went Infantry School and War Academy. By 1953 he made his way up to major. -
