Democritus was philosopher who was born on 370 BC and died in 460 BC. His Atomic Theory is based on atoms that are in the atmosphere. He come up with the idea that air was air and no matter what it couldn’t be separated. He also came up with the name Atom. -

Leucippus was born in about the year 500 BC. Leucippus was the person who developed and refined the first theory of the atom. He wasn’t well known but one thing he published was ‘The Great World System’. He contributed his theory’s along with other theory’s, which were from other scientist. -

Isaac Newtown was born in England 1642. He was a great mathematician the best in his time. He worked on the optics and gravitation. -
Dalton
John Dalton was born in 1766 on September 6th in the town Eaglesfield England. He found weight for hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, Sulfur and phosphorus. He knew the elements were identical and had the same weight and that compounds were atoms from different elements combined together. -
Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen
Wilhelm Conrad was born on 27 of march in 1845. He is known for the discovery of the rays or better known as x-rays. Other works in this field had been explored by other scientists. -
Robert Andrews Millikan
Robert Andrews Millikan was born on the 22nd of March, 1868, in Morrison. Robert Andrews Millikan determined the charge on electrons. It was John Thomson, however, who determined that electrons exist in the first place. -
Frederick Soddy
Frederick soddy was born 2 sep 1877. He said that some elements exist in different forms. with nuclei having the same number of protons but different numbers of neutrons. He also came up with the theory for isotopes. -
Enrico Fermi
Enrico Fermi was born in rome on September 29 1901. He became a professor of Physics at the university of Rome in 1927.Fermi’s acheivements were in both theoretical and experimental physics. He received a noble prize in 1938 for his discovery of radioactive elements produced by neutron irradiation and for the discovery of nuclear reactions. Fermi moved to the university of Chicago to be charge of the making of the atomic bomb. -
Paul Dirac
Paul Maurice Dirac was born in England in 1902. He was a leading theoretical physicist in the twentieth century. Dirac studied the structure and properties of the atom. He was awarded a noble prize with follow physicist Erwin Schrodinger in 1933. -
Zeno
Zeno was a Greek philosopher who along with other people was the first to put forward the theory of Eleactics. This theory was supported and thought to be better then the theory of the atomic theory.
