John Dalton was the fist to propose the idea of atomic theory. He figured out that atoms could not be created or destroyed. He gave us the general idea of the atom and it lead to later descoveries. -

Sir Crookes Created the first cathode tube. This became the future way for the technology made to make television show up on the tv. Also the reason tv were called tubes. -
G.J. Stoney
G.J. Stoney was the first to descover the negative particles in an atom which is know as an electron. he paved the path for later descoveries involving the atom for the people after him. -
jj Thompson
jj Thomas descovered that an atom is full of positive matter. he said that there was a smaller particle in the atom. he called it corspucles. He found this put by using his cathode rays. -
Marrrie Curie
she was a big impact on descovering radioactivity. she descovered with some help from her husband that uranium its self was making the air around it electrical. making uranium radioactive. -
Max Planck
Max Planck introduced quantium theory and he stated that elctromagnetic energy can only be transferred or emitted in the quantized state. What he called quanta would later be called photons in physics. -
Fredrick Sobby
Fredrick Sobby came up with isotopes to explain the break down of radioactive elements. He explained and figured out that radioactivity was caused because of transmutaion of elements. -
Bohr improves the atomic model
Neils Bohr created the Bohrs model, It shows electrons moving around the nucleous. he also helped with the quantum theory. Saying that when and elctron changes orbit it must lose or gain enrgy. -
Henery Moseley
Henery moseley decided that the atomic number of an atom depends on the amount of protons in the atom. He sorted the periodic table based on very logical ways. they are still the accepeted model for todays periodic table. -
Ernest Rutherford
He is know as the father of Chemistry. he descovered and named the proton. He also theorized that the middle of an atom has a small nucleous where the enrgy is focused. -
Ernest Walton
Ernest was the first person to artificially split an atom by atoms smashing. he won a noble prize for it and is the only irish person to ever win a noble prize. -
James Chadwick
He descovered Neutrons and that their mass was close to that of a proton. Figured out that a Neutron had an equal charge. Not positive or negative. -
Otto Hahn
Developed nuclear Fisssion. He is known as the father of Nuclear Chemistry. -
Glenn Seaborg
He descovered eight transuranium elements.He had a major impact om chemistry and Called one of the most significant changes in the periodic table since Mendeleev's 19th century design, the concept showed how the transuranium elements fit into the periodic table. -
Enrico Fermi
He made the first man made nuclear reactor. He was the last to fill the big descovery involving the atom. He found the lst four forces of nature.
