    Democritus

    BC****
Democritus made the first intial discovery of the atom
  • John Dalton

John Dalton purposed the atomic theory.
  • JJ Thomson

JJ Thomson figured out that canal rays and found that they have to deal with a positive charge. He also determined the charge to mass ratio of an electron.
  • Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein came up with the equation e=mc^2.
  • Robert Milikan

Robert Milikan did an experiment with oil that determined the charge and the mass of an electron.
  • Ernest Rutherford

Ernest Rutherford use atom particles as bulletes. He also said the nucleus was small and positive.
  • Niels Bohr

Niels Bohr devolped the atomic structure. He made an orbital structure with balls representing the electrons.
  • Louis de Broglie

Louis de Broglie supported Einstein by saying electrons were similar to both particles and waves.
  • Wolfgang Pauli

Wolfgang Pauli came up with quatum mechanics.
  • Werner Heisenburg

Described atoms by a formula. Came up with the Principle of Indeterminacy.
  • Erwin Schrodinger

Erwin Schrodinger said that electrons were clouds with wave mechanics.
  • James Chadwick

James Chadwick did experiments that led to the discovery of the neutron.
