Democritus discovered the democritus atomic theory. The atomic theory revolves around the atoms that are present in the atmospere.
The theory states that these atoms are all individually created and cannot be seperated no matter what scientific procedures are applied.
The democritus atomic theory explains the existence of atoms and also its features.
Democritus didnt actually do any expirements he used theoretical reasoning to conclude that matter could only be divided up to a certain point.

Johns inquisitive nature and diligent research led him to make many important discoveries in fields other than chemistry.
