  • The First Jersey

    The First Jersey
    The Kings made their debut in the season of 1967, they wore purple jerseys at home and gold on the road. These colors matched thier arena mates, the Los Angeles Lakers. This was the beginning of the "Purple and Gold Era." Worn 1967-1969.

    The King's "Purple and Gold" era. Uniforms coincided with their arena mates, the Los Angeles Lakers.
  • White Outline Added

    White Outline Added
    White outlines had been added to the crest and number outlines in order to keep up with NHL regulation chnages. Worn 1967-1970.
  • Gold Pants Introduced

    Gold Pants Introduced
    Gold Pants where introduced for the King's home games. Worn 1970-1971.
  • Torso Stripe Moved to the Bottom

    Torso Stripe Moved to the Bottom
    The Kings move the stripe found on the torso to the very bottom, making it much like a border on their uniform. This border would eventually have "Los Angeles" embrodierd across it in 1998. Worn 1971-1977.
  • Names Added to Jerseys

    Names Added to Jerseys
    With NHL regulations being added as the league grew names where required to be on all players jerseys at all times. The Kings adapted to this adding names with white boarders much like the numbers. Worn 1977-1979.
  • Gold Pants Retired

    Gold Pants Retired
    The Kings retire the gold pants worn at home. They are placed by the purple pants, the King's purple pants are now worn home and away games. Worn 1979-1980.
  • Neck to Cuff Stripes

    Neck to Cuff Stripes
    The Kings redesign thier uniform. Keeping the same purple and gold color scheme but adding the popular neck to cuff stripes. Worn 1980-1988
  • Welcome home, Silver and Black

    Welcome home, Silver and Black
    With the Raiders now being the, Los Angeles Radiers, and also Wayne Gretzky arriving the Kings chnage thier color scheme to Silver and Black and introducing a new Kings logo. The crown retires and a text logo appears as the new crest. Worn 1988-1991.

    The Silver and Black Era

    The franchise enters its "Silver and Black" era, which was introduced when Wayne Gretzky enters the scene. This is also the Raiders color scheme which played in Los Angeles at the time.
  • The Mess Up

    The Kings make one chnage to their 1998 jersey. They invert the trim on both their home and away jerseys. By doing so it made the trim of the name plates nearly un readable. This would be fixed the follwoing season. Worn 1991-1992.
  • The Fix Up

    The Fix Up
    The Kings fix their trim by making the names a solid color. Worn 1992-1995.
  • The Burger King Jersey

    The Burger King Jersey
    In 1995 the NHL would roll out their third jersey program. (Later the alternative jersey.) The Kings debut what is now called the Burger King jersey. This jersey was the first and last human crest the Kings would wear. This alternative jersey would only be used one season. With that being said this jersey is very scarce, being so it is a valuable collectors item to most Kings fans. Worn 1995-1996.
  • Purple is Reintroduced

    Purple is Reintroduced
    In 1998 the Kings would introduce a new crest, with the crest they would also reintroduce purple into their black and silver color scheme. A crown is placed among each shoulder (shoulder patch.) With the new crest also came the Los Angeles text at the bottom of the torso. Worn 1998-1999.
  • Altenative Jersey Introduced

    Altenative Jersey Introduced
    The Kings introduce their new alternative jersey and crest. The crest being the same crown that is worn on their 1998 jersey's shoulders. This alterantive jersey is also the Kings first tie-down collared jersey. Worn 1999-2002.
  • The Flip Flop

    The Flip Flop
    In 2002 the Kings would flip flop their crests. The 1999 shield crest would become the crest of thier tie-down alternative jersey and the crown on their 1999 alternative jersey would become the primary crest of thier 2002 home and away jerseys. This is also true for the shoulder patches, the crown patches replaced by the shield and vice-versa for the alternative jersey. Worn 2002-2007.
  • Torso Stripe Removed

    Torso Stripe Removed
    In 2007 Reebok became the NHL jersey maker. They introduced a new jersey technology later known as EDGE. With the introduction of the EDGE jerseys the Kings cut the torso stripe off thier jerseys but the "Los Angeles" text remains. Worn 2007-2008.
  • Back in Black Alternative Introduced

    Back in Black Alternative Introduced
    The Kings introduce a new alternative jersey, which would later become thier primary home jersey. It goes back to the Gretzky era of no purple. It also introduces a new crest, focusing on the two letters LA, since most reffer to the team as LA and not Kings or Los Angeles anyways. Worn 2008-2011.
  • Period: to

    The Back in Black Era

    The Kings begin to remove purple from their color scheme when they introduce a black and white alternative jersey, 100% eliminating it in 2013.
  • Back in Black Flop

    The Kings would flip flop their alternative jerseys and regular jerseys. The 2008 alternative becomes thier home jersey and basis for thier road jersey (white with black.) The 2008 primary jersey becomes the teams new alternative jersey, cutting the tie-down jersey out of the scene. Worn 2011-2013.
  • Purple Retired

    Purple Retired
    Purple is 100% eliminated from the Kings color scheme with the alternative jersey being retired. Worn 2013-Present.
