This slave rebellion was because many Africans were kidnapped as slaves and places on the Amistad ship and be transported to Cuba. The African people managed to take over the ship and forced the leftover Cubans to return them to Africa. When the Africans were not looking, they would turn the ship back towards Cuba that made them land in the U.S where the Africans were taken as property.
