Andrew Carnegie was born in 1835 in Scotland to a poor weaver. -
In 1865 Carnegie left the railroad
and started his own company making railroad bridges from iron. -
Carnegie retired in 1901 after he consolidated
into the Carnegie Steel Company he controlled a quarter of American iron
and steel production.
