The Olympic Games originated in 776 B.C. as a festival to Zeus. Held in Olympia. All city states had to agree, to not fight or argue. There were sports such as, javelin, running, wrestling, horseback riding.

Grew up in the golden age, and fought in the Peleponesion war. Socrates wrote nothing, we know him by the writing of his student, Plato. He focused on how people should behave. He never gave answers only asked questions. He pointed out differences between what they said and how they lived. He did not get paid for his works. Later on people got annoyed because of all the question asking. He was arrested and was sentenced to death, he had to drink Hemlock (poison). Death:399 BC

The Peloponnesian war took place in 431 BC. The war was between the Athenians and Sparta. Athenians didn't want to fight on land because they knew they would lose. So the Athenians prepared by building walls, burning the crops outside of the walls, then they waited. Sparta waited for them to attack, they didnt so Sparta retreated for food. When they got to Sparta they saw Athens destroyed many cities along the coast. About 30 years later the Athenians surrenders, leaving Sparta the victory.
