    French and Indian War

    The French Indian War was a 9 year. Between the two countries Great Britain and France, they fought to claim the land of North America. The war technically ended in 1760. But 3 years later, the Treaty of Paris concluded it.

    Sons of Liberty

    The sons of Liberty lasted from 1765 - 1783. It was started to begin something called the Stamp Act. They only lasted until the American Revolutionary War began in 1775.

    Townshend Act of 1767

    The Townshend Acts were a series of laws that the British positioned taxes on goods imported into America ( Gas, Lead, Paint, etc). They also wanted to increase British control over colonial trades.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea party was a political protest. It was a key act of defiance by American colonists against the British. In the 1760's Britain was in a deep debt. It was a event that was the rising action to the American Revolution.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts were a series of punitive acts. Some of them were known as Closing Boston Harbor, Restricting Massachusetts Government and more. The British did this to try and gain authority over Massachusetts. These acts were later passes in 1774.
  • Second Continental Congress Meets

    The Second Continental Congress was in May of 1775 in Philadelphia. The meeting took place in the Independence Hall.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    The battle of Bunker Hill took place in June of 1775. It was known as a ''Pivotal'' War to the American Revolutionary War.
  • Olive Branch Petition sent to England

    The Second Continental Congress adopted the Olive Branch Petition On July 5, 1775. It didnt officially get sent to King George lll until three days after. The Petition was sent to potentially prevent was with Great Britain. The King later refused to receive the petition and war began.
  • Battle of Trenton

    The Battle of Trenton was a one day war fought on December 26, 1776. George Washington conducted a surprise attack across the Delaware River against Hessian mercenaries. This victory boosted and reinvigorated the Continental Army.

    Battle of Yorktown

    The Battle of York town was a battle that lasted for about a month in late October of 1781. King George and his allies (French Forces) came together to trap Britain. This victory secured the American Independence that led to the Treaty of Paris. After the battle, America was declared free.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris was known as one of the multiple international agreements signed in Paris. The Treaty of Paris was the End to the American Revolutionary War. This agreement was to sign over the rights.
  • 3/5 Compromise

    The 3/5 Compromise was an agreement signed in 1787 regarding the slaves. Basically every 3 out of 5 slaves were counted to represent the states population. This was signed to solve conflict between the north and south over population control.

    Constitutional Convention

    The Constitutional Convention was a gathering of "delegates'' from 12 out of the 13 original states. They wanted to come together to revise the Articles of Confederation. BUT instead of just revising it, they made a whole new one. It is now known as the United States Constitution.
  • Constitution was Ratified

    The U.S Constitution was ratified In June of 1778. It took place when New Hampshire was the 9th state ratify. North Carolina and Rhode Island was the only two states that never signed it
  • Bill of Rights Adopted

    The Bill of Rights consists of the first 10 amendments to the United States Constitution. After this day, 3/4 of the states approved the 12 amendments. It wasent actually until 1992 were they ratified the 27th amendments.
