American Revolution

  • The seven year war

    During the Seven year war, also known as the French and Indian war, it was the French vs the British and Indians.
  • Proclomation of 1763

    This was issued by King George, it states that the colonists are not allowed to cross over the Appalacian mountains.
  • The stamp act

    Was made to tax anything with paper, examples, diplomas, playing cards and newspapers.
  • Nine colonies

    Nine colonies went out to talk to the government about the Stamp act and they made it so that American colonies could not be taxed.
  • The townshed act

    This act placed taxes on tea, glass, paper, and paint.
  • Revolutionary war

    Was fought for freedom, the colonist and the Continental army fought against the British army.
  • Declaration of Indepenece

    The signing of this document declared the colonists free from King George and England and sparked the American Revolution.
  • Articles of Confederation

    After the Declaration of Independence was signed the Articles of Confederation was brought in. It took them close to four years for them to even get all the states to sign it. Though it still failed.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The British forces were defeated at Yorktown. Then came the Treaty of Paris that ended the war.
  • The Constitution

    Formal document laying out the organization of the government.
  • Bill of rights

    The states approved 10 out of 12 amendments which became known as the Bill of Rights.
