    French and Indian war

    A fight between Britain on one side, and the French and Native Americans on the other. It was mostly a fight for control of North America
  • Boston Massacre

    It started out as a "patriot" mob throwing snowballs, sticks, and stones at a British patrol. In the comotion someone shouted "Fire!", so the british patrol fired into the mob killin five people.
  • Stamp Act

    The stamp act was actually a tax on parchment, because it requiered all most every printed material to have a stamp on it to show that the parchment was purchased. The stamps were only able to be bought through the British government in each city.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party was a rebellion against the Tea Act. Colonist dressed up as mohawk indians raid ships in Boston habor that were filled witth tea. The colonists dumped all of the tea into the harbor be leaving every thing else unscathed
  • Quartering act

    (couldn't fit under 'Intolerable acts') The Quartering Acts made all colonists house and feed any british soldier that came to thier door for free.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable acts consisted of the Boston port act, which closed Boston Harbor to all ships execpt British ships. the Massachucetts Government act, which gave the British government more control over Boston, and the rest of Massachucetts. The Administration of Justice Act, which allowed the governor to move trials of accused royal officials to another colony or even to Great Britain if he believed the official could not get a fair trial in Massachusetts. Finally the Quartering act
  • First Continental Congress

    It was a meeting delegates from the colonies. They had two goals to accomplish, boycotting british goods and to establish a second continental congress. Both of which were accomplished.
  • Paul Revere's ride

    Paul Revere was riding to concord and in all the towns inbetween he shouted "The British are coming!" to ready the minutemen for battle.
  • Battle of Lexington & Concord

    Lexington was the start of the Revolution War, it occured while the British were on thier way to Concord when they were met with minutemen. The British were on the way to concord to sieze wepons and gunpowder. but when they got there it was gone. The minutemen attacked the British again at Concord and all the way back to Boston.
  • The Battle of Bunker Hill

    Patriots under command of William Prescott occupied Breed's and Bunker Hill. When the British learned of this the mounted an attack on them, which was repelled with many British cassualties. But in the end the battle was a loss for the Patriots.
  • Comman Sence is Published by Thomas Paine

    Thomas Paine wrote about bolstering enthusiasm for separation from Britain, and encouraging recruitment for the Continental Army.
  • The British captures New york

    General Home and his troups landed on Long Island and slowly and continuously pushed Wasington out of New York City.
  • Washington crosses the Deleware

    On Christmas day Wasington led a surprise attack against Trenton to catch the British off gaurd from all the partying they did the night before.
  • Battle of Trenton

    Washington caught the British off gaurd and took Trenton almost without firing a shot.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    When Washington and his troops met General Burgoyne's troops, and with help from Benedict Arnold forced Burgoyne to surrender at Saratoga.

    Winter in Valley Forge

    Valley Forge was an encampment of the Continental Army in Pennsylvania for the winter.
  • Battle of Cowpens

    The Battle of Cowpens was a decisive first step by American forces in reclaiming South Carolina from the British and ultimitely turning the tide of the Revolutionary War. The victory at the Battle of Cowpens convinced many doubtful Americans that the war could actually be won.
  • The Articles of Confederation

    The representatives of the thirteen states agree to create a confederacy called the United States of America, in which each state maintains its own sovereignty and all rights to govern, except those rights specifically granted to Congress.
  • Victory at Yorktown

    The Battle of Yorktown was the last major engagement of the American Revolution.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The treaty of Paris formally ended the revolutionary war. The treaty stated that the United states were independant from Britain.
