After the war with the french, the british wanted their money back from the colonies because they had borrowed some cash from the british empire for...some reason. -
stamp act
the british taxed the colonies paper products to get the money back. the colonies did not like the stamp act because they did not help make the law, so they burned stamps to show their dislikingness of the act.(even though stamps had NOTHING to do with it.) -
Boston tea party
when all else failed the british put a tax on goods...including tea!
the colonies were outraged and threw all the freshly sent tea into the ocean! -
