    The CCC was a great way to produce job oportunites. While jobs were low during the Great Depression, Roosevelt found a way to multi task. Roosevelt was worried about the conservation of natual resources, so to make jobs, he hired African Americans to conserve the natural resouces.

    The New Deal was a recovery plan made by Roosevelt after he took office in 1933. Roosevelt had different progreams inside the New Deal to help get the country back on its feet. There were 10 original programs, a few being the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), and the Nationalo Recovery Administration (NRA).

    Roosevelt began to give fireside chats in 1933. Fireside chats were a radio broadcast or Roosevelt about the Great Depression. These chats would raise the morale of the country, because Roosevelt would share the little bit of progress frequently.

    The bus boycott was the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement to get equal rights for African Americans. Rose Parks sat in the white section of a bus, and refused to get up. This motivated other African Americans to boycott and fight for their rights.

    This event was when 9 African American students attended an all white school. This helped advance in equal rights in the Civil Rights Movement because the 9 students were willing and happy to attend school. Also, the blacks were encouraged to take part in this new idea.

    In 1961 voters in San Antonio, Texas elected the democrat Henry B. Gonzalez to the house of Representatives. This was a huge step up for equal rights to hispanic Americans.

    The Cuban Missile crisis was the closest the United States has ever been to a nuckear war. The Soviet Union had nuckear missiles pointed our way, and threatened to send them off at any moment.

    Soviets were unhappy after the Cold War with Gorbachev. He was anit-communist, but the Soviets still wanted to have Communism. With the Soviets making harsh maneuvers, Gorbachev resigned in 1991.

    On this day, a terrorist attack occured on the World Trade Center. Planes were high jacked by terrorists and they flew planes into the twin towers, and the pentagon. One plane was meant to hit the white house, but crashed down into a field.

    Barack Obama was elected president in 2008. He is also our current president in his second term.
