    Christoffer Columbus discovers America
    Many people from western europe wanted shorter way to Asia. Columbus thought he could sail west without knowing about the countries that would block.
    However he could not afford this trip so the spanish crown helped him if they got gold, spices. In August 1492 he left Spain with three ships Santa Maria,Pinta,Niña. After sailing for abot 4 months he reached the bahamian island San Salvador. He met native Americans who lived there. He called them Indians because he thought he hade reached India.

They boarded the ships and threw the chests of tea into Boston Harbor. The British government responded harshly and the episode escalated into the American Revolution.

They together became the first 13 states of the United States of America.
