A group of 100 settler-soldiers come to Ville Marie to protect it from the Iroquois. Placed under the care of Marguerite Bourgeoys 15 Filles du Roi came along. Also this year, Jeanne Mance would create the Hotel-Dieu hospital in Ville-Marie.
