Soon after he had bought the team he had fired a longtime coach Tom Landry and a few months after that he had forced out general manager Tex Schramm and took total control over all of the football matters.

    On May 2, 2009, the Dallas Cowboys' practice facility collapsed during a wind storm. The collapse left twelve Cowboys players and coaches injured. Rich Behm, the team's 33-year-old scouting assistant was permanently paralyzed from the waist down after his spine was severed.
