    The American teenager is a complex individual who goes through various changes that shapes who they are for the future.

    How are teens socialized differently than other subgroups in our culture?
    Teenagers face the constant struggle of being introduced to illegal drugs and alcohol and if they are able to make the right decision. They also face the influence of cliques which force members to conform to their social rules. This sets teenagers apart from other subgroups by giving them challenges that will define themselves.

    How are teens socialized differently than other subgroups in our culture?
    Teens are socialized differently through miscellaneous agents of socialization such as: sports, school, hobbies, jobs, and organizations. This is different from other subgroups because the teenagers they will make decisions that will shape who they are for the future. Teenagers fill the role of being the empty shell which gets filled with personality and experiences.

    The pattern that teenagers share is the trial and error style of life that allows them to learn more efficiently. The cultural traits of teenagers in this society is the application of the internet in their daily lives. This is different from other subgroups becuase teenagers use it the most and are the most skilled at it.

    Well within the wireless communication age, American teenagers find themselves using text messages and facebook to express their emotions and interests in one another. It doesn't seem to be taken as seriously as it used to be and is more casual.

    What are the characteristics of American teenage dating in 2011?
    The functions of dating include: socializing and relationship skills. Socializing via dating means teaches teens how to communicate and interact with one another. Relationship skills involve how to treat one another and participate in a healthy relationship.

    How are teenage relationships in general defined in our culture?
    In general, the relationships are superficial and lack true significance. Adults participate in more complex relationships to find the one person that makes them happy. Like adults, teenagers want to align themselves with another person that will make them feel more complete. They prepare teenagers to be a part of a serious relationship at a later age.

    What challenges, struggles, stressors, etc. are experienced by teens in America?
    Teenagers must learn how to balance school, their social lives, work, and other responsiblities. They must also face the challenges of peer pressure and learn to stick to their beliefs. Now, with the application of technology, teenagers are exposed to much more, which complicates their lives in general.

    Whar are the social control methods teens use within their subculture?
    Teens allineate themselves with other teens that have similar qualities and interests which helps them form social groups or cliques. Teens are expected to make mistakes, act out, and experiment. Compared to teenagers, adults act more responsibly and make wiser choices in general due to experience.
