    Hitler Stalin Agreement
    Hitler (Germany) and Stalin (Russia) sign a nonagression pact, mainly because the Soviets were excluded from the Munich Pact, the Soviets were seen as a big threat to Hitler, no alliance deals were made to Soviets, and they weren't going to get any help from the west. However, this pact was actually not what it actually was. We know that Hitler was planning something.
  • Poland

    Poland
    Germany had been focusing on Poland since the non agression pact. In September 1, Germany invades Poland, in September 3, France and England declare war but they don't attack Germany yet. On September 17, Soviets invade Poland. On September 27 Warsaw surrenders.

    In the Phony War, Great Britain, France, and Germany do not attack each other for a while, all countries wait for some one else to attack.

  • Dunkirk

    Dunkirk
    The German troops trapped the Allied forces around the northern French city of Lille in May 26, 1940. The Allies tried to escape but they were trapped with the sea right behind them. Great Britain came and sent 850 ships to save 345,000 troops.
  • Fall of France

    On this day, France surrenders to Germany. First on June 3, the Germans bombed Paris, and then on June 10, Italy declared war on France and Britain.
  • Operation Sea Lion/Invasion of Britain

    Operation Sea Lion/Invasion of Britain
    Operation Sea Lion was Hitlers plan to first knock out the Royal Air Force and then invade England. Germany started bombing Great Britain. The British kept fighting. However, the RAF later hit back hard. They had two secret weapons, RADAR and the Enigma machine which would show them all the German secret messages. The Battle of Britain ended on May 10, 1941, and Hitler decided to call off his attacks.
  • Barbarossa

    After failing to conquer North Africa and Britain taking several prisoners, Hitler focuses on a surprise attack on the Soviet Union. The USSR have NO idea this will happen, especially with the non-agression act being signed. In June 22, 1941, German tanks and aircrafts start to push into Russia.
  • Stalingrad

    Stalingrad
    Germany, after surrounding Leningrad, start looking to Moscow. However, Soviet General Georgi Zhukov and his army hold them off until March 1943, when Germany finally retreat and Moscow is saved.
  • El Alamein

    El Alamein
    Before, Germans had attacked places in North Africa, especially Egypt. This went into the British units also. However, after a while, the British strike back, sweeping 500 miles across North Africa, taking 130,000 Italian prisoners. Hitler decides to take a break and he focuses on the surprise attack on the USSR.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    On this day, there was an invasion of Normandy, France. It was a plan named Operation Overlord, and was the greatest land and sea attack in history. It was the British, American, French and Canadian against the Germans. The Germans retreated.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Battle of the Bulge
    Hitler and the Germans decided to try to cut the supply lines and separate the allies, but the Allies pushed back and they won.
  • V-E Day

    V-E Day
    After the Germans pretty much figured out that they were going to lose and were pretty much outnumbered too, Hitler took poison and shot himself. On May 7, Eisenhower accepted the unconditional surrender from the Third Reich. The surrender of Germany was official on May 8, 1945. That day is called V-E day, Victory in Europe Day.
