On the 17th of August 1980, 9 week old Azaria Chamlerian was taken from her family tent when camping with her parents and two brothers, at Uluru (Avers Rock) in central Australia. Her parents claimed that she was taken by a dingo. Azaria's body was never found.

The first coroner's inquest into the death of Azaria opens. The findings find the Azaria was taken and killed by a dingo (wild dog)

The supreme court of the Northern Territory, get rid of the findings of the first inquest and orders a second inquest.

On the 29 of October 1982, Lindy Chamberlain was convicted of murder by a jury in the Northern Territory Supreme Court. She was also sentenced to life in prison. Michael was convicted as an accessory after the fact and given a suspended sentence. Lindy was pregnant at the time.

19 days later after the trail, Lindy gave birth to her second daughter Kahlia, who was taken four hours after the birth into her fathers care.

Two days after giving birth to Kahlia, she is released on bail pending a appeal

The Fenderal Court rejects the Chamberlains appeal and Lindy in retured to prison.

A petition signed with 131,000 signatures calling for Lindy's release from jail.

A book named Evil Angles is realsed by Melbourne Battister John Bryson, provided an in - depth look at the Chamberlain case, and suggests that they might have been wrongfully convicted.

In 1986 on the 2 of Feburary Azaria's matinee jacket that lindy had claimed she was wearing at the time of her disapperance was found at the base of Uluru. As a resuly of this evidence Lindy was released from prison and the case was opened again.

Lindy is realsed from prison. The royal commission commeced in 1986 and heard 92 days of evidence, at which 145 witnesses were testified. The Commissioner reported on the serious mistake made by scientists, on the incorrect opinions formally made against Lindy.

Justic Moorling issues a 379 page report analyzing the evidence in the Chamberlian case. The report finds that the evidence against the Chamberlains to be no correct.

The Commissioner found that the evidence could no loger support a guilty verdict. On the 2 of June 1987, when the report was tabled in parliament, the Chamberlians were formally forgiven for such a big mistake made.

On the 15 of September 1988, the NT Court of Criminal Appeal stated: "The convictions having been wiped away, the law of the land holds that Chamberlains to be innocent." All convictions against Lindy and Michael Chamberlain were overturned.

In 1988 on the 4 of November a film was released based on the case, the Lindy Chamberlain character played by Meryl Streep says 'a dingo took my baby' (the real Lindy said 'a dingo has got my baby').

A third coroner's inquest into the case was held, leading to a new finding with the cause of Azaria's death rocorded as unknown.

On the 4 of June 2012 a fourth inquest 32 years after Azaria's death. The finding presented were the Azaria was taken and killed by a dingo and an amended death certificate was issued immediatly
