Lindy Chamberlain who is heavily pregnant, is found guilty of first degree murder and is sentenced to life imprisonment. Michael Chamberlain who was an accessory receives an eighteen month suspended sentence.

Federal Court rejects appeal. Lindy is held at a Women's Prison, then transferred to Darwin. Kahlia goes to live with foster parents.

A soliciter requests Lindy is released due to Reagan's eye accident. The request is not granted.

A petition of 150000 signatures is presented to Sir Ninian Stephens, the Governer General.

Lindy applies for release because Kahlia's foster parents transferred. The application is denied and Kahlia goes to live with new foster parents.

A recently formed 'Innocence Committee' submits new evidence to the NT Government and makes an application for an inquiry.

During a search for missing body parts of a fallen climber at Ayers Rock, the missing matinee jacket of Azaria Chamberlain was found.

Lindy finally sees the jacket and identifies it.

Senator Bob Collins forces the local reporter Frank Alcorta to check his sources. He is so angry that he writes an article for the local paper and shows it to the NT Government, threatening to print it if Lindy is not released from jail by 12pm, or an Inquiry is called. They do both.

After a fourteen month Royal Commission Justice Trevor Morling hands down his findings and clears the Chamberlain's of all guilt. If he had been asked he finds support for the view that Azaria was taken by a dingo. The NT offers them a Pardon.

A new act of Parliament is forced through to allow the Chamberlain's to return to court to clear their convictions.

The Supreme Court of Darwin supresses all convictions and declares the Chamberlain's totally innocent.

The film 'Evil Angels (A Cry in the Dark)' is released.

Lindy asks Michael for a divorce and year later the divorce is finalised. Kahlia chooses to live with Michael, Reagan lives with Lindy and Aidan divides his time between the two homes.

Lindy meets Rick in the USA and in May they are engaged.

The Chamberlain's are paid compensation by the NT Government.

Kahlia asks to live with Lindy and custody proceedings start.

Lindy and Rick are married and choose to move to the USA.

Lindy receives custody of Kahlia and Reagan, at the request of both children.

Findings of the Third Inquest are announced. NT Coroner reiterates that neither Lindy or Michael were involved with the disappearance of Azaria. He leaves the cause of Azaria's death 'open'.

Lindy and Rick move back to Australia to be closer to Lindy's ageing parents and also to Aidan.

After a series of dingo attacks on humans, a fourth coroner's inquest is opened. Lindy expresses the hope that the inquest will both clear her name and alert the public to the fact that dingoes are dangerous.
