On Apil 10th the 'unsinkable' ship set sail. She was sailing from Southampton, Eangland to New York. The Titanic was a astonishing 882 feet long. The size of almost four city blocks! She had nine decks and was as high as an eleven story building.

The Titanics' radio room began reieving iceburg warnings that were about 50 miles away.

While attending a special dinner, Captain Smith recieved an iceburg warning. He excused himself and went onto the deck.

At 11:40pm Fred Fleet was watching for iceburgs when he spotted a huge dark blob. He quickly sounded the alarm. They tried to quickly turn off the engine to slow the ship. Then they tried to put it in reverse. It was too late though. The ship had already hit the iceburg. The ship had a huge gash in the side.

At 12:30 am Captain Smith gave orders to start loading the first lifeboats.

At 12:45 am the first lifeboats were launched. The first only held 28 passengers.

By 2:05 am the Titanic had sunk taking 1500 passengers with it.

By 1:30 the passengers had noticed the slanting of the ship.
