  • Government announces next stage of water plan

    Followed by information sessions with the Bass Coast council and communities. Council liasion commences.

  • Planning Minister announces EES to be undertaken.

    Desalination Plant EES

  • Public expressions of interest and comment opens

  • EES report and EPA Works Approval Application (WAA) submitted and exhibited for public comment

  • EPA Works Approval Application approved

  • Federal Minister for Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts approves project under EPBC Act

  • Contract awarded to AquaSure

  • Construction begins

  • Project Summary tabled in Parliament. Project contract released.

  • First pipe laid at Clyde North

  • Start of Tunnel Boring Machine 1 for Inlet Tunnel

  • Plant will begin operating at the end of December
