When Mohammad was eight years old, his grandfather, 'Abdul Muttalib, passed away at the age of eighty. He was placed in the care of Abu-Talib, the kindest of Abdul-Muttalib's sons.

Khadija hires Mohammad (pbuh), through Abu-Talib's request, to lead a caravan to Syria. Abu-Talib demanded that she hire his nephew, and pay him double the original compensation of two camels.

Khadijah's best friend, Nafisa, suggested to Mohammad that he could marry Khadijah. He agreed, to Khadijah's delight, and her uncle married them in their family's ancestral home. Financially, Mohammad was doing better.
