Isaac Singer re-invents the sewing machine.

The sewing machine is re-invented by Isaac Singer after it was invented by a few other inventors before. During the Civil War, people used this machine to sew rips in their uniforms.
Singer created I.M. Singer & Co. in 1851 which manufactured sewing machines. This company was renamed to Singer Manufacturing Company in 1865, and then in 1963 it was renamed to The Singer Company.
