  • The Role Of Government Agencies

Consumer protection regulatory agencies (We’ll just call them government agencies) fight to ensure that individuals are treated fairly, receive the necessary information to make informed decisions, are protected against product hazards, and have the ability to use legal recourse if needed (Page 12, OL Textbook). Government agencies act as a safety net for investors for if and when they mistreated in the market.
  • Services That Government Agencies Can Offer to Consumers

Most government agencies offer similar services to investors who seek justice, however, some specialize in different areas. The main power that all government agencies have is the ability to use legal recourse if needed (Page 12, OL Textbook).
  • I Have an Issue With a Federal Credit Union...

A Federal Credit Union is making claims that I have unpaid debt, when I have legal documentation that I’ve paid it in full. The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) can help me with this issue. The NCUA’s purpose is to regulate, charter, and supervise federal credit unions (Page 13, OL Textbook).
  • What Services Can The NCUA Offer?

The NCUA has power to use legal recourse when needed, and in my situation, it’s necessary. The NCUA operates and manages the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, insuring the deposits of an overwhelming amount of account holders (Page 13, OL Textbook). This means that the NCUA should be able to back up my records, and bring justice to the shady credit union.
