  • Coming to the U.S.A

    Coming to the U.S.A
    In 1620 settlers sailed from England to the U.S.A for many reasons. On eof the reasons settlers came to the U.S was to be free from england. Another was to have land of their own. There was also the freedom of religion.
  • Revolutionary War

    Revolutionary War
    The colonists grew mad at with Britain when they started to tax them on many goods. The colonists started to boycott the goods. Thomas Jefferson then wrote the Declaration of Independence with all the views of the colonists. This inspired many of the colonists to fight for their freedom. In 1781 the colonists won the war.
  • Louisiana Purchase

    Louisiana Purchase
    In 1803 France offered to sell all the land between the Mississippi River and the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains to the United States. This doubled the size of the United States.
  • Lewis and Clark Expedition

    Lewis and Clark Expedition
    Once the United States purchased the land from France President Thomas Jefferson sent Lewis and Clark to explore the land. Along with them was Sacajawea. They started the trip at the Mississippi Rive and all the way to the Pacific Coast and back about 8,000 miles.
  • Civil War

    In 1861 the north went to war with the south. This war erupted when the north decided it was wrong to have slaves. Then in 1863 Lincoln issued the Emanicpation Proclamation which said that all enslaved people in loyal ares to the Confederacy were free. The war ended in 1865.
  • World War 1

    World War 1
    When the U.S.A. started getting stronger it started to have a major role in the world. As a result World War 1 broke out. President Woodrow Wilson did not want to take part but once U.S. ships started to sink from Germany, it ment war. The U.S. joined the allied powers of Great Britain and France, who won the war in 1918.
  • World War 2

    World War 2
    Germany came under new power of Adolf Hitler. He promised to restore power in Germeny. Their ally Japan attacked the US. so the US declaired war on Japan then Japan did the same. This started the World War 2. In May of 1945 the US defeated Germany.
  • Martin Luther King Jr

    Martin Luther King Jr
    In 1955 Martin Luther King Jr inspired the bus boycott for the right of his people. During the boycott he was arrested and his house was bombed. But he didn't let this stop him he kept protesting and giving speeches like the "I Have A Dream". At the age of thirty five he received the Nobel Peace Prize. But on April 4, 1968 he was assassinated.
  • Flight 93

    Flight 93
    Omn September 11 of 2001 terrroriists on flight 93 and three other plans took over the plan and killed some people. Their plan was to hit some of the most popular places in the US. They hit the world trade center and the pentagon. They planed to use flight 93 to hit the capitle but the passengers would not allow it. They attacted the terrorists and won the batl but lost their lives in it.
  • Obama For President

    Obama For President
    In 2008 Obama ran for president and on the day of elections he was one of the two people still in the run for president. On that very night he was voted the new president and what made this even more exciting was the fact hat he is our first black president.
