  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act required colonists to shwlter british troops in their homes. The colonists were to provide the basic needs for a daily life. Some specific items that they were to provide was bedding, cooking utensils, firewood, beer or cider and candles. This law expanded into 1766. New Yorkers reasoned that it was unfair to pay the fuull cost for Thomas Gage's growing army. In 1767 the New York assembly was suspended untill the soldiers needs were fully founded.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    British military presence in boston and started a brawl between soldiers and civilians. It lead to troop discharging their muskets. After this event 5 people total were dead and 11 were injured. What was significance about this event was it was the first killing that occured and it was the leading cause of the Revolutionary war.
  • Boston Tea party

    Boston Tea party
    Officals in Boston refused to return 3 ship loads of taxed tea to Britian. Some colonist destroyed the tea by dumping it out and throwing it into the Harbor. Some of the men dumping the tea over board was actually disguised as indians. The Boston Tea Party was one of the key events of the Revolution. After this event this showed Britian that the colonist aren't going to stand for the taxes on the items.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The tea was to be shipped directly to the colonies and be sold at a bargain price. Colonist from Philadelphia and New York turned the tea ships back to britian. The boston royal govenor was stubburn and held the ships inport. It was the final spark to the revolution. At the end of this event it made it so that tea was cheaper.
  • Intolerable Act

    Intolerable Act
    They shut down the Boston Harbor. Shutting down the boston Harbor mean't that a lot of people lost there jobs. Also it means that you were no allowed to inport/ export goods. So in a way people were stuck there and it was hard to get their goods. No ships were allowed to go in/out of the Boston Harbor. They did not want the tea so they thought dumping the tea would mean that England would leave them alone. King Geaorge the third was mad. As a punishment he published the Coercive acts.
