In 1848 mexico and the united states began to have conflicts. It was mostly cause by the annexation of mexico. The main dispute was over border issues. They were debating wearther the border was at the Nueces river or the Roo Grande. On feb.2 1848 the war ened and the United Sates won.Mexico gave California, Nevada, Utah, most of Arizona, and parts of Colorado, New Mexico. -
Emancipation Proclamation
President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, as the civil war approached its third year.The proclamation declared "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free." -
Abraham Lincoln assassination
President Abraham Lincoln was shot while attending a performance of Our American Cousin at Ford's Theatre with his wife . Lincoln's assassin was actor and Confederate sympathizer John Wilkes Booth. Shortly afther killing the president Booth left the ather. A day later Lincoln was pronouns dead. -

Eleven Southern slave states declared their secession from the United States and formed the Confederate States of America. Abraham Lincoln, had campaigned against the expansion of slavery beyond the states in which it already existed. The south was not happy with this so they diceted to secede from the states. so they declaler war on the north. at the end the south ended up losing and and the last battle was fout on may 13 1865.
