On March 29 the Tuskegee Airmen as a group received the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor
for their "unique military record, which inspired revolutionary reform in the Armed Forces,"
according to the official proclamation. Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives,
presented the medal to a select group of Tuskegee Airmen in the Great Hall of the Library of
Congress. It's an honor St. Louisan Lewis John Lynch, along with his brothers in arms, waited
