Afghanistan

The war in Afghanistan started after the World Trade Center was attacked on 9/11/01. We're fighting against Al Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden , and the Taliban government. The war is still on going but there has been a decrease in American deployment.

Obama

Barack Obama won the democratic party nomination and wanted a change for America. He wanted health insurance for all workers, and an increase in taxes on wealthy Americans.

Presidency

May 30, 2008

Obama becomes the first African American President. He helped pass a bank bailout to jumpstart the economy, a bank bailow of the auto industry, and passed a major health care reform law.

9/11

The patriot acked was passed in 2011 and airport security was changed. America at this point has also intervened in several countries to protect democracy in the US and around the world.

Iraq

The war started because of the suspensions of weapons of massive destruction in Iraq. This led to the falling of Saddam Hussein. After 8 years of fighting, security has been handed back to the Iraqi government.
