Today I believe I am a victim of fraud. I got a strange bank statement of multiple purchases that I didn't make.
-
I needed to contact a trustworthy credit company in order to figure out a way to stop the fraud from happening.
-
"There are three main credit reporting
companies: Equifax, Experian, and Transunion," (pg. 6). -
Cancelling the credit card will prevent the perpetrator from stealing more money and checking my other sources will allow me to see if they have taken anything else or attempted to steal my identity.
-
"Among other options, identify
thieves could use your name and address, credit card or bank account numbers,
Social Security number or medical insurance account numbers," (pg. 5). -
"NACA is an organization of more than 1,500 attorneys who
represent and have represented hundreds of thousands of
consumers victimized by fraudulent, abusive, and predatory
business practices," (pg. 6). -
This time will allow me to team up with professionals, such as NACA, to add more security to prevent anyone from committing fraud against me again.
