1st Quarter Timeline

  • WWI Starts

    Women helped injured soldiers and they produced weapons to help them too and most men worked as soldiers in the war.
    The food was horrible, there were very big rats, and many experienced the trench foot.
  • WWI Soldiers Experiences

    World War 1 began and soldiers had many problems such as trench foot, which was an awful feet disease and in extreme cases, it had to be amputated. There also was bombing, rats and loosing body parts.
  • WWI Women Experiences

    Women in World War 1 had several important jobs such as making weapons, nursing, ambulancing. They also were chimney sweeps and truck drivers, these jobs made women really important for the war.

  • Treaty of Versailles

    Said that Germany had to accept the blame for starting the war. Germany had to pay $10billion for the damage during the war.
    Germany was forbidden to have submarines or an airforce, it could have a navy of only 6 battleships, and an army of only 100,000 men.
    They lost land in Europe and its colonies were given to Britain and France
  • The Ku Klux Klan

    It is a combination of three past organizations that represent and promote white-supremacy, nationalism, and anti-immigration. They started after WWI.
  • The Roaring 20s

    America was really good in economy and many good things for America came.
  • Hyperinflation

    Germany could not afford payments, France sends in troops. Germany workers go on strike, No production : hyperinflation, Germany stope strike - economy improves.
  • The Great Depression in Germany

    People in the Great Depression were homeless, they lived in trains and hoovervilles,, they couldn't afford food, no land to farm, and people didn't have jobs.
    They were also hopeless, desperate, depressed, and sad.
  • Wall Street Crash

    After World War 1 a series of events happened that caused an economic boom which became known as the Roaring 20s which was when everything changed. The value of shares of the US stock market raised rapidly, in October 24 "black Thursday" were 12,894,650 shares sold. After that bankrupcy took place.
  • Jewish Ghettos

    Jewish Ghettos had many bad things, people lived and died very poorly. They lived overcrowded, in poverty, and spontaniousley, they moved very often from one place to another. In these places, death was most common than anything else, they could die from so many reasons such as hunger, disease, shot, burned, beaten by any reason. They lived so scared.
  • Concentration Camps

    The death camps were so terrible for Jewish people specially. First, they were taken on a train for approximately 3 days. It was awful inside the trains, there was no space for people to sea down and not toilets/bathrooms either. Lots of people died on the journeys to the death/concentration camps. If not they were killed and burned.
  • Holocaust

    All that happened to the Jews in WWII.
  • Pearl Harbour

    This was an attack on the American naval base by Japanese forces on December, within 2 hours, 5 battleships had been sunk, another 16 damaged and 188 aircraft destroyed. The attacks killed over 2,400 Americans, with another 1,178 injuired.
  • Atomic Bombs

    The US used a massive atomic weapon against Hiroshima, Japan. The atomic bomb, equivalent to 20,000 tons of TNT which killed tens of thousands of civilians. Japan was bearly recovering and 3 days later, US attacked once more, this time in Nagasaki.
