The World Wide Web as we know it was created by Tim Berners-Lee, technically in '89 but had HTTP protocol in 1990. The web has enhanced our lives by connecting people to people and to information quickly, enhancing the entire world as we know it. -
Microsoft Office released
MS Office suite released by Microsoft in November of 1990. These productivity apps have been instrumental in business applications and are used by over a billion people worldwide. -
Linux kernel released
the Linux operating system was created in August 1991 by Linus Torvalds. It is an OS available to all and is synonymous to Windows and Mac OS. -
Java - Programming Language
Java the programming language was designed by James Gosling of the Oracle corporation. This language is one of the most popular programming languages used to make web apps. It is comparatively simpler than other languages and can be designed on one web browser and run in other browsers. -
GPS - Fully operational
Global Positioning System (GPS) as we know it becomes fully operational. It's creators are argued but it is owned by the US government and operated by the US Space Force, formally known as Air Force Space Command. GPS is used in all location-based apps used for location and relative movement.
