Apple creates the Mac
The Macintosh computer is introduced in 1984 by Apple. This company later went on to create revolutionary technology such as the iPads, iPhone, smartwatches, etc. -
CD Rom Introduced
CD's allowed programs and other data to be used in computers. James Russell created CD's but Sony incorporated them into a computer. CD's were later used to connect to the internet, play music and games. -
First Laptop Created
Adam Osborne created the first laptop in 1980. The first iteration of this design was bulky and not very portable, as you can see in the image. As advances with computer hardware and software progressed, laptops because the sleek devices we own today. Laptops are now used for school and work, allowing us to work remotely and comfortably. -
1985 - Windows Created
Microsoft Windows is launched in 1985, a new operating system. One of the founders, Bill Gates, went on to become one of the world's wealthiest men on the planet. Windows has undergone many updates but continues to be a competitor to Apple. -
World Wide Web Created
Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web (WWW) in 1990 and the rest is history! Can you imagine a world without internet now? Access to data at your fingertips, creation of social media and even online shopping is now available because we can connect to the network and websites that allow us to do these things.
