This technology was able to replace the floppy disk and expand the memory capabilities of computers. This technology went on to sale millions of units and was included in IBM machines and Apple machines. -

The invention of the floppy disk is controversial in the sense of who the original inventor really is. IBM claims that Alan Shugart was the inventor , but there are also claims that a Japanese inventor named Yoshiro Nakamatsu was the first creator. One of the greatest inventions of this decade was Microsoft Word. Still used widely to this day, it changed productivity as we know it and allowed for people to use their machines in a more personal aspect. This invention can be credited to Richard Brodie and Charles Simonyi. -
Matlab makes its debut
Matlab is widely known and used in the engineering world. In order to correct analyze data and simulations, this tool is used to compute and categorize results. It changed the world of engineering as we know it, since Algebra is a huge part of calculations, there was a lack of software to assist with organizing data before Matlab. Without it, there would be loads of errors that wouldn't have been caught when it comes to releasing software updates for big companies such as Apple and Tesla.
