    Impeachment of Clinton

    Paula Jones filed a lawsuit accusing Bill Clinton of sexual harassment when he was the governor of Arkansas. Monica Lewinsky talked to a friend named Linda Tripp and said that she had a sexual relationship with the President. Tripp told Jones and Lewinsky was put on a witness list. In January 1998, Clinton denied having any sort of relationship with Lewinsky. In December 1998, the House impeached Clinton on two charges but was later acquited and Clinton was not removed from office.
